August 5, Paris
There is a moment every morning when I go into the bathroom and stand there gormlessly for several seconds looking for the toilet. We do have a toilet in our apartment, but it is not in the bathroom.

Tuesday, June 19 Brisbane to Wellington
We got in a cab in Brisbane and asked to go to the train station.
DRIVER: Where are you going by train
ME: To the airport
DRIVER: Taxi is cheaper.
ME: Hm.
DRIVER: I will drive you to the airport
ME: Thank you, just to the train station, please.
DRIVER: Train tickets are twenty dollars. I will take you to the airport for forty dollars.
ME: Just the train station
DRIVER: Why should you pay more?
FISHL: She gets really sick in cars.
ME: No need to get into graphic detail.
FISHL: Yeah, I think maybe there is.
DRIVER: If it were just one person the train would be cheaper. I am just telling you. I have to tell you.
FISHL: SHE'S GOING TO PUKE ALL OVER YOUR CAR, BRO.
DRIVER: Here's the train station.
PS. Train tickets were less than twenty dollars

Monday, February 22, Santa Maria to Los Alamos
Much of today used up at bike store and waiting for urgent care, on which we ultimately gave up. We got to Los Alamos just in time to get to the one restaurant in town on Mondays. They close at seven! Good thing we did not try to power on to Santa Inez.
The hotel front desk had four gauze pads, and I had been able to buy two rolls of gauze, so I had a little more to work with and did not have to use too much duct tape on Poor Fishl's elbows and knees, but still had to use the shredded long john legs as bandages.

Wednesday, February 17 Hayward to Salinas
On Wednesday we had some thrilling views, but rode into the fiercest, most unrelenting winds I have ever experienced with the exception of Hurricane Sandy, but including Philadelphia in December of 2009 and Baoding. It took over two hours to ride eight miles from Castroville to Salinas.
Welcome
Warm greeting to all who have expressed support and interest in where we go and what we do on our Cow Cruises. I have started this blog to provide some limited amount of amusement for you.
